Earlier this evening the Neocron servers became unreachable, apparantly the gameworld servers are uneffected and it is a reachability issue preventing users getting ingame. Nidhogg has acknowledged the issue and Reakktor are working on a solution. Update: SnowCrash has posted info regarding the issue this morning. "The game servers are still running. The server hosting the launcher page seems to have some trouble. Our tech department will look into that issue asap." You can follow the current issues in this forum thread. Update by Brammers: 26th May 22:29BST - We are now upto 5 days since the problems with the login server started. Despite repeated requests by myself, or other members of the neocron community for an update from KK, no update has been released since Odin's post and Nidhogg's post on Saturday, which is really disappointing for a lot of the community members. Therefore at this point in time, the best guess is still Tuesday. However myself on behalf of the THN community members and Neocron community members will continue to push KK to release an update ASAP. Update by Brammers: 27th May 11:03BST - A statement about the servers is currently being prepared, as soon as we know, we shall bring it here. Updated by Brammers: 12:35BST - The following update has been released by Snowcrash . The short version - something went badly wrong, and the server may be back on Wednesday afternoon. Here is what Snowcrash said. "As previously explained, we have encountered severe hardware malfunctions on our main account server which is used for account management and all affiliated data (e.g. the launcher website). Due to unfortunate circumstances several hard drives had been severely damaged, including the backup drives, and therefore it was not possible to apply any backups in order to quickly recover and continue operation. Critical payment information have not been compromised as these information are not stored on our servers but on the servers of the according payment provider.
In the time since the outage began our service provider has engaged a specialist team to recover the data from the affected drives. That process is nearly complete and we will be able to check the state of the server today. Without making any promises, we are trying to have the servers back online by tomorrow afternoon.
We are fully aware of your displeasure at the servers being unavailable for these past few days and we are deeply sorry for this inconvenience. Despite industry standard safety measures it happened that multiple critical hard drives were seriously damaged; a one in a million chance.
Unfortunately it is not possible to apply free game time as compensation but in order to compensate you for the lost days the Neocron Gamemaster team will prepare some in-game surprises once the servers are available again." Updated by Brammers: 28th May 2008 15:42BST - Another update from Snowcrash, servers will not be up today. "After the check-up of the main account server we have detected some damaged areas on the server’s database. It is now necessary to fully scan and repair these damaged areas. However, we were able to identify that these areas are not containing sensible data. Nonetheless these areas have to be fully recovered to make the server operational again. Due to technical conditions this process can take several hours; thus it is not possible to reactivate the server today. We will keep you up to date with the recovery process during the next 24 hours."
