Basic Driving Mechanics Use your vehicle once you have located it to enter. For anyone who has played UT2004, you should feel immediately at home. If not, you go into thrid person on entering the vehicle. For ground vehicles the controls are nice and simple. Foward drives the vehicle fowards, strafe left rotates left, strafe right turns right, backwards drives you backwards... If you are gunning or in a driver/gun seat, shooting works much the same as on foot. Look around and aim with the mouse. Wait for the reticle to close after aiming at something then let rip. Some vehicles have restricted cones of fire however. Also, as of Neocron 2.2, all vehicle weapons are of somewhat questionable effecivness, when compared with handheld weapons. One note - don't take ground vehicles - even hovertecs - into water. They stop dead and reset to the ASG very quickly. To put your vehicle away, ensure it is in the same secttr as a warp garage, use the garage and select dismiss. Combat Land Vehicle Directory | | NEXT ER Chaincraft V.1 Driver/gunner Reqs: STR:61 H‑C:92 VHC:45 Availability: NEXT FSM Description: The lowest requirement combat vehicle. Drives just the like the normal chaincraft - ie slowly but wth reasnable cornering and climbing. The 20mm Gun isn't about to set any new records for devestating weaponry, but is quite effective for hunting at least. | | NEXT Terminator Assault Quad Driver Reqs: STR:24 H‑C:55 VHC:48 Availability: Combat Quad Quest Description: All the maouverability and speed of the NEXT Quad, combined with a twin firing rocket launcher (with a rather limited firing arc) mounted to it. Also faily lightly armoured, a problem compunded by the difficulty of replacing a destroyed Terminator (it involves collecting parts from hoverbots). | | NEXT ER Assault Bike V.2 Driver Reqs: STR:68 H‑C:98 VHC:55 Availability: NEXT FSM Description: A gas-guzzling bike that drives just like the ER Speedbike, but with the addition of a single-shot rocketlauncher on the front. Rather cool looking beast, however despite the higher requirements, the 20mm gun on the combat chaincraft and especially the combat hovertec does more damage to most mobs and other players. In addition, the limited firing arc rather restricts the effectivness of this as a combat vehicle. It is however the cheapest of the combat vehicles at NEXT FSM. | | NEXT ER Combat Hovertec V.1.2 Driver Reqs: STR:79 H‑C:104 VHC:55 Availability: NEXT FSM Description: The quickest bit of gunning avaible on the ground, and pretty reasonable turning circle too. Armed with an effective 20mm cannon with a broad firing angle, this vehicle drops most mobs reasonably well and runners who are vulnerable to pierceing. | | NEXT HH Combat Wheeler V.2 Driver Reqs: VHC:39 Gunner: STR:84 H‑C:107 Availability: NEXT FSM Description: (a.k.a. "Suicide Car") The frankly rather silly HH Wheeler V2 made even sillier by the installation of a gunner seat that launches vehicle grenades in a fixed (and rather short) arc. The result of this being that any kind of adverse slope results in the gunner launcing grenades straight back into the vehicle itself. Also places the entire task of aiming down to the driver's use of angles and slopes. Could perhaps be useful in distracting your enemies with fits of laughter while your friend sneaks up behind them. | | NEXT HH 4x4 Chaincraft V.1 Driver Reqs: VHC:42 Gunner: STR:75 H‑C:102 Passnger Seats: 1 Availability: Industrial Area 2 Smuggler Description: Quick, excellent climbing, a good amount of armour and a 30mm cannon mounted on the tail. Used to be deadly, now the 30mm cannon is only moderatley effective. | | NEXT Reveler-Chaincraft V.2.5 Driver Reqs: VHC=42 Gunner: STR=85 HC=107 Passnger Seats: 1 Availability: NEXT Epic Reward Description: All the feautres of the above HH4x4, but with the bonus of slightly better armour and the fact that if destroyed, it returns to the garage with a mere 17NC repair cost. | | DOY HH4x4 Combat Chaincraft Driver Reqs: VHC:42 Gunner: STR:84 H‑C:107 Passnger Seats: 1 Availability: TG FSM Description: Like the NEXT version, only sporting a modified DoY bot Ion Cannon on the back instead. | | NEXT Scorpion Trike V.1 Driver Reqs: VHC:61 Gunner: STR:79 H‑C:104 Availability: Industrial Area 2 Smuggler Description: Reasonably quick and tough, and packing a slighly weedy 20mm cannon on the tail gun, which also has a very limited cone of fire. | | NEXT Assault Trophy Hunter V2.56 Driver Reqs: VHC:61 Gunner: DEX:81 R‑C:105 Availability: NEXT FSM Description: Like the scorpion, only with a 7.62mm tail gun that resembles a street rifle (although without the range). | | NEXT Heavy Assault Scorpion Trike V.2 Driver Reqs: STR:88 H‑C:109 VHC:65 Gunner: STR:79 H‑C:104 Availability: NEXT FSM Description: Traditionally the ultiamte solo hunting vehicle, still weighs in there but no longer goes through warbots like a hot knife through butter. Still also pretty damn expensive. Rocket launcher for the driver, and the same 20mm tail gun as on the standard scorpion on the tail. | | NEXT AT Troopcarrier V.1 Driver Reqs: VHC:69 Gunner: STR:75 H‑C:102 Passnger Seats: 6 Availability: City Admin FSM Description: As quick as the HH4x4, but with a far worse turning circle, the Troop Carrier excels at doing just as its name implies - shifting a large number of people across the map in quick time. The driver and passengers are fully protected against attacks by the reasonable although not exceptional armour of the vehicle, while the gunner mounted on a 30mm cannon equivilant to that on the HH4x4 is exposed but able to provide cover as the rather big target moves around. | | NEXT Rhino 4x4 Chaincraft V.2 Driver Reqs: VHC:69 Gunner: STR:90 H‑C:110 T‑C:79 Passnger Seats: 2 Availability: Constructed only - from NEXT FDB BPs Description: The Main Battle Tank availble in Neocron. Packing huge amounts of armour, a powerful vehicle laser cannon and shielding all 4 occupants from any outside factors. The choice for hunting some of the more dangerous wastelands mobs, especially firemobs. Effective against other runners too, thanks to its shielding of the gunner - vulnerable to anti-vehicle weaponry because of its unsuprigly sluggish speed however. Despite this slowness, the rhino climbs fairly effectivley, certainly better than most of the wheeled vehicles. |
| NEXT Rhino 4x4 Chaincraft V3 Driver Reqs: VHC:69 Gunner: STR:98 H‑C:113 T‑C:81 Passnger Seats: 2 Availability: NEXT FSM Description: The powered up (and priced up) version of Neocron's main battle tank, this beast packs an area of effect vehicle raygun cannon, capable of dealing out the pain to multiple enemies - although it looks rather pathetic compared to the doombeamer.
