Undergrounds facilities filled with disgruntled veterans of the Ceres War
LocationsThe Village Storages are the caves native to the grassland areas of the world map/ Point Red Storage : B07, inside the Point Red building Calida Village Storage: D09, inside one of the larger buildings of the village Sherman Bay Storage: A10, inside one of the buildings on the north side of the bridge Enemies | Ceres War Soldier 70/70 and Ceres War Lieutenant 80/80 - Armed with rather inacurate launchers, these mutated former soldiers will try to blow you up. Their damage shouldn't be too intimdating to any high level character however.
| | Ceres War Infantriest 90/90 and Ceres War Heavy Infrantriest 100/100 - These boys begin to pack a real punch - they can down a rhino in 5 shots and so you'd better watch out. Less frequently seen than the soldiers and Lieutenants. | | Doom Harbringer 120/120 - The boss of the village storages - there is only the one in each storage. Legendary for its ability to drop grouped PPUs seemingly without effort. However, far from invincible. |
LootMost of the mobs drop large amounts of high-level muntant loot - mutated entrails, big brains and tronik parts all fall, often 7 or more to a mob. The Infantriests drop Ancient Launcher Connectors - a neccessary item for recycling blank datadisks and not availble elsewhere. The Doom Harbringer can drop techs and is also the exclusive source for the Judgement Day Launcher - a special TL90 rocket launcher. Again, it is frequent to see several of these on a single creature. Tactics As with all mutated creatures, xray is less effective against these mobs than other damage types. The rocket launchers used do heavy force damage, making these caves an unfavoured place for monks and others of weak force resists. They launcher are also however very innacurate, making it effectivley possible to "dodge" the rockets. The large area-of-effect also means that teams would be advised not to gather to closley together. Deflector is of course, an absolute must. Be careful not to mix actual deflector with a deflector belt however - the game seems to get quite buggy there. In addition, the doors of the facility can be used to your advantage, providing a hiding place from the rocket barrage. NotesThe story behind these locations isn't exactly clear. Going by the name of the mobs, it appears that the enemies faced down here are supposed to be veterans of the Ceres War, who succumbed to mutation and now bear a grudge against the world that abandoned them. Incursions of Doom Harbringers into Neocron city are not unheard of, but generally feared. |
